Smoke Pairing: Cherry
Ingredients:
• 2 oz rye whiskey or bourbon
• 3/4 oz sweet vermouth
• 1/4 oz Prescott Spice Company Cherry Balsamic
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• 1 Luxardo cherry
• 1 orange peel
• Cherry wood chips
• Frozen granite cubes
Instructions:
1. In a mixing glass filled with frozen granite cubes, combine whiskey, sweet vermouth, cherry balsamic, and bitters. Stir gently for 60 seconds.
2. Strain the cocktail into glass.
3. Add cherry wood chips to chimney smoker and torch until smoldering. Then cover with lid for 30-60 seconds.
4. Express an orange peel over the drink, running it around the rim before discarding. Drop in a Luxardo cherry and enjoy this bold, frontier-inspired Manhattan.
